Bruce Dougherty
I've been a realtor with Alain Pinel Realtors since 2007 following a career in the information technology business and a short time with a smaller brokerage. I consciously chose Alain Pinel because of it’s market leadership whether measured by “brand,” market share or technology and support resources. That market leadership has been a substantial benefit not only to me but to my clients as well.
Before turning to real estate I spent many years in sales and marketing in technology companies: first at IBM, then as a vice-president at Tandem Computers and last as the initial vice-president of sales and marketing at Nuance, a successful start-up in speech recognition software. Nuance was great fun--we grew from about 15 people to 400 in four years and went from zero to $40 million in software revenue at the same time. Our end result was a successful IPO in 2000. I still enjoy talking business and technology with many of you in the great companies we are lucky enough to have call our area home.
My wife, Fran, and I live in Los Altos and have had a long term relationship with the Peninsula and South Bay. This area is our home and we know it well. We're season ticket holders to the San Jose Opera and the San Francisco Ballet as well as the Stanford women's basketball program. We're also members of the Cantor Museum at Stanford and the Asian Art Museum and DeYoung Museum in San Francisco--we even have our name etched (along with many others) on the donor wall at the entry to the DeYoung for contributing to the rebuilding of that museum. Clearly, we love where we live and think it's a very special place.
As you think about selling or buying your home, please think of me. I know and love the area, understand its uniqueness and value, and am committed to helping you achieve your goals.
I look forward to meeting you.
