Who’s on Your Side?

The Playing Field Has Changed...

Simply put, technology has changed how we buy and sell real estate. That's a powerful statement. But studies show that nearly 95% of buyers and sellers use the internet as their primary source of information when they're searching for a new home, or if they're researching property values in their neighborhood before they decide to sell. Today's consumers are technology-savvy, and they demand real-time information and intelligent data analysis at their fingertips. The technology to fuel this revolution is here, yet very few agents know how to fully utilize these tools to the maximum benefit of their clients. Until now....

Who is Chuck Gillooley?

I'm a 49 year resident of the San Francisco Peninsula, having spent the past 24 years raising a family in the wonderful city of San Carlos. Growing up in this area has given me a unique appreciation of everything this wonderful city has to offer. I am also one of the few technically-degreed Realtors that you'll ever find. I hold a Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and I proudly bring over 20 years of successful technology sales experience to the real estate market. This makes me one of the very few Realtors that truly understands technology and the internet, and I use it in innovative ways to bring maximum value to my clients. My popular White Oaks Blog is just one example.

Home values in San Carlos can vary significantly among the various neighborhoods – even the specific block and school district that you reside in can make a huge difference in your home’s value. It’s critical in this fast-paced and competitive real estate market that you enlist the help of an agent who understands the intimate details of the micro-market right here in San Carlos. I have helped over 50 families buy or sell their home in the City of San Carlos alone, and many more in the surrounding communities, so I truly have my finger on the pulse of the San Carlos real estate market.

The key to successfully selling a home in this market is to get maximum exposure; to get your property seen by the largest number of interested and qualified buyers. While technology plays a crucial role, it's not the only factor. Relationships and networking are also vital, and I am well known and respected by the other agents who work the San Carlos market. Consequently, I can get your home directly in front of the agents who likely have the greatest number of clients looking to call San Carlos home.

Finally, I also believe in giving back to the place I call home. I proudly serve my community as a volunteer coach, referee, and board member and I have volunteered countless hours at our public schools. It would be an honor to assist you in your real estate needs. If you're ready to step up to a new standard in real estate, you've found the right partner.

What Do My Clients Think?

Providing outstanding service is the hallmark of my business. I strive to ensure that every transaction handled in the utmost professional manner, and that my clients feel thrilled with the service they received. Here’s just a sample of what some of my clients have said about their experience:

"When we initially set out to select a realtor, we wanted that person to be: 1) intelligent and experienced; 2) knowledgeable about our targeted areas; and 3) honest and trustworthy. Our agent, Chuck Gillooley, truly met and exceeded our expectations in all 3 areas. We recently purchased our first home, and it was his expert guidance that helped us win the bid in a multiple-offer environment.

Chuck is a consummate professional who knows his business and is sensitive to his clients' needs. Before we met him we had already wasted countless hours on MLS and spent many weekends randomly visiting open homes. Although we have lived in the Bay Area for many years, we weren't sure of exactly what we wanted or how much we could afford. It was only after we started working with Chuck that we began to narrow our search in a meaningful way. Chuck shared his immense knowledge of the neighborhoods that we were interested in, educated us on how to look for the negative (as well as positive) aspects of a home, and kept us abreast of market trends and conditions at all times. He encouraged us to see homes that he knew we would like as soon as they came on the market, but remained flexible when there was a change in our search parameters.

Purchasing a home is an inherently stressful process, especially for first-time buyers, but Chuck added tremendous value and gave us the professional support we needed. He answered every real estate question we had in a thorough and intelligent manner - from the pros/cons about a property to the finer details in the purchase agreement and inspection reports to the logistic of closing escrow...and everything in between. Chuck is a true advisor in that he'll provide balanced feedback and as much data as you need, but let you make your own informed decision.

Beyond his professional strengths, Chuck is enjoyable to work with because he's also a genuinely nice person. He is incredibly responsive and accessible, and very generous with his time. If you have any real estate needs on the peninsula - and *especially* in San Carlos - you should absolutely call Chuck. He is outstanding!" -- Paul and Irene D., San Carlos

"We chose Chuck as our real estate agent based on his website and a face-to-face meeting (we did not have a personal referral). He helped to make our first-time home-buying process as smooth as possible. For us, he was the perfect agent. He was well-informed, reliable, available, on-the-ball, friendly, pleasant and an all-around great guy. Chuck is not the pushy saleman type, but provides advice when asked. He seemed completely honest and above-board in his approach. He is meticulous and his attention to detail was very reassuring (compared to seller's agent who seemed scatterbrained). Chuck knows San Carlos intimately, which is where we wanted to buy; when we ended up going with a different town, he was flexible and accomodating. Highly recommend!" -- Alisha D & Jason R, Burlingame

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for a great job. You have definitely met my expectations of a professional Realtor. You kept me completely up to date each step of the way prior to going on the market, while we were on the market, during the open houses, and as the interest of potential buyers grew. Your professional attitude during the presentation of offers and handling of each agent after we decided on the best offer for us was very assuring to me. I would not hesitate to recommend you to my family or friends.” -- Sharon S., San Carlos

Chuck did way over what I expected him to do – even vacuuming the carpets before an open house! But the best thing about Chuck is that he is a caring, considerate, and helpful – and just an all-around nice guy. I already told him that if the need arose, I’d use him again. -- Joanne E. – San Carlos

Chuck is an incredibly friendly, polite and respectful person with a very accommodating personality, which translates well into his work as a Realtor. As my Realtor for my first home purchase, Chuck was not only very professional, but very thorough. He's well adept at using all forms of technology to get any possible information you may need on a home. Even though I ended up purchasing in San Bruno, Chuck's knowledge of the Redwood City / San Carlos area is incredible and allowed me to gauge what would be the best fit in my price range. He was never pushy and rarely offered his own opinions unless they were asked for. During our escrow period Chuck was on the ball, making sure everything from inspections to the mortgage was taken care of in a prompt and efficient manner.

I've been my new home over three weeks and I have Chuck to thank for the great deal I got. If anyone asks me for advice on a Realtor in the peninsula area, Chuck will be the first person I mention, no doubt about it!!" -- Ken P., San Bruno

"My wife and I loved working with Chuck Gilooley. As first time home buyers he was very patient with us, talked us through the whole process and provided us a great education on home buying. Chuck walked through a lot of junky houses with us in our quest to buy and he always approached his job with a good mixture of professionalism and humor. He's down to Earth, friendly and straightforward with you and works hard for his clients. If you're looking for a home on the Peninsula, Chuck is a great realtor to work with." -- Robert and Laura M, San Mateo

I have significant experience working with professionals in the corporate world and I was very impressed by the amount of preparation (Chuck) put into each house hunting trip. He clearly operates at the highest level of professionalism, and he treated these first time buyers, who are working with a limited budget, as though they were buying the largest piece of property in the Bay Area. Chuck is an ALL STAR in our eyes.” -- Stephen M., Carmel, CA

…Service couldn’t have been better! Thank you! -- David L. and Sally R., Pacifica

The APR "Reach".

Alain Pinel Realtors is unique in the real estate brokerage world in that we are the largest privately held real estate brokerage in California, and the 5th largest brokerage in the entire United States, based on sales volume.   We have nearly 1,500 agents in 32 offices throughout Northern California and surrounding areas.

But size alone is not what makes APR unique.  Most other brokerages in the Bay Area are franchises, with each office being independently owned and operated by its own broker and manager.   This means that even though the brand name may be ubiquitous, each office operates independently of each other.   Consequently, there's no inherent motivation or vehicle to pool resources and share vital information, when in reality these offices essentially compete with each other.
APR is different --  all 32 offices operate as a single brokerage.   That means that information (i.e. your listing) is shared freely and prominently among all of our 1,500 top producing agents.  Our Peninsula offices, which are located in Burlingame, San Mateo, Woodside, Menlo Park, Palo Alto, and Los Altos are all the top producing offices in their respective marketplaces.
So why is this important to you as a home seller?
As your listing agent, I have direct access to the agents who represent most of the well-heeled buyers in Silicon Valley that are likely to choose San Carlos for their new home -- this is particularly true for those home buyers who find themselves priced out of the stratospheric Menlo Park and Palo Alto real estate markets, in which were are indeed the #1 brokerage.   The exodus of home buyers that have been priced out of these markets is a big factor behind the recent run-up in home prices in San Carlos.
In other words, the person who ultimately purchases your home may very well be coming from one of these markets.   It's incredibly valuable to have that kind of unfettered access to this buyer pool, and APR is the best positioned brokerage to offer you this advantage.  It's an advantage that only APR can offer, and I will utilize this fully as your listing agent.
In addition, through our affiliation with Luxury Portfolio, your listing will get visibility to wealthy buyers in Europe and Asia who may be looking to relocate to this area. With Alain Pinel Realtors, you get global reach with local service.
