Carla Belgrano Ramsey was born in San Francisco a third generation Californian. After graduation from Vassar College, Carla worked as an architectural assistant and a stringer for TIME Magazine. In 1964 Carla moved to Pebble Beach with her daughter, son, and husband who assumed the presidency of Del Monte Properties, now the Pebble Beach Company.
While there, Carla originated the Pro-Celebrity Tennis Tournament, patterned after the Crosby Pro-Celebrity Golf Tournament. It was later called the Eastwood Celebrity Tennis Tournament.
Carla is a graduate of Bondurant Racing School and was co-owner/manager of a professional automobile racing team. Carla continues her interest in INDY Racing.
Carla was appointed to the Planning Commission of Carmel-by-the-Sea by then Mayor Clint Eastwood and was re-appointed twice again serving a total of six years, the last three as Chairperson.
Carla resides in Carmel-by-the-Sea and is an active participant in local politics along with her full-time real estate career. She serves as a member of the Local Government Relations Committee of the Association of Realtors and is a Trustee of the Local Candidate Recommendation Committee, formerly the Board of Realtors Political Action Committee. She was elected Chair of both for two years, receiving Special Recognition Awards for Outstanding Leadership and Service.
Carla was elected by her fellow Realtors to the Board of Directors of Monterey County Association of Realtors for two years, receiving the Distinguished Service Award in 2001 and 2002, and she is a past recipient of the John Leo Award.
The California Association of Realtors recently congratulated Carla on her selection as an Honorary Member-for-Life of the Association.
