Mary Gilles brings to Alain Pinel Realtors a dynamic personality and extreme dedication to professionalism. Her partnerships with her clients are based on steadfast loyalty and integrity. While real estate transactions become very focussed on the money and data, Mary advises her clients against losing sight of the human factor. The art of negotiation is truly a dance between personalities and Mary's awareness of human relationships serve her clients well. Mary's clients may describe her as authentic, compassionate, dedicated and extremely knowledgable of the market. She is not a volume agent and this allows her to provide her clients with a concierge level of personalized service. She passionately enjoys the fast pace of real estate and building lasting relationships with her clients and her colleagues.
In the highly competitive world of SF Bay Area real estate, it is vital that buyers and sellers have representation from an agent who is immersed in the local real estate market. Mary is devoted to knowing the inventory and tours Menlo Park and Atherton properties regularly. This allows her to know, first hand, the nuances between comparable properties. She is connected to the Multiple Listing Service ("MLS") updates real time and is a strong advocate of real time communication with her clients and colleagues. Time is of the essence in real estate and sometimes a few minutes can make or break a transaction or opportunity.
Over the past few years, the market has seen a shift to "off MLS" sales. This data does not necessarily make its way to the MLS and Mary is continually researching sales that have occurred off MLS. She is a member of an agent networking group representing several local brokerage firms who meet monthly to discuss upcoming listings and needs of their buyers. She is then able to communicate to her colleagues her upcoming listings as well as relay information to her buyers about inventory that has not yet become public knowledge on the MLS. This gives her buyers a head start before the property is entered into the MLS. Additionally, Mary is a member of Producer's Forum which is a private agent online database which matches buyers and sellers.
Mary's background includes fifteen years at Hewlett-Packard where she worked as a Paralegal and Legal Specialist. Residents of Menlo Park for 25 years, she and her husband, Mark, have raised two children who have grown up in Menlo Park and attended Oak Knoll Elementary and Hillview Middle schools. Her daughter currently attends Menlo Atherton High School and her son is a graduate of Bellarmine College Prep and currently attends Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Always solution oriented, Mary helped form and chaired a Traffic Safety Committee at Oak Knoll Elementary to address unsafe traffic issues en route to the school. She also served on various PTO committees and on the Board of the Menlo Park Atherton Education Foundation. She has also been quite active with civic matters and has served on and chaired the Menlo Park Transportation Commission. She worked diligently with a small group of residents in 2010 to bring pension reform to Menlo Park with the passage of Measure L and continues to be active in Menlo Park's political community.
Mary has represented a spectrum of people who are purchasing and selling properties from condos to luxury homes. All her clients receive the same high level of service and attention. Mary feels quite fortunate to be associated with Alain Pinel Realtors, a family owned, boutique firm that is dedicated to excellence and meeting the highest expectations of the people who make up this uniquely beautiful mid Peninsula community.
