BUYERS: 
Great News! First-time homebuyers tax credit is extended to April 30, 2010. Couples earning as much as $225,000 a year and individuals earning up to $125,000 would qualify. That is up from the current $75,000 limit for individuals and $150,000 for couples.  This is a great incentive that can give the first time home buyer up to $8,000.00 back in tax credits. 

Added is a $6,500 tax credit for existing homebuyers who have lived in their residence at least five years and purchase a new home. Couples earning as much as $225,000 a year and individuals earning up to $125,000 would qualify. Those buying homes worth more than $800,000 wouldn’t be eligible for the credit. Those who sell their new home or stop using it as their main residence within three years would have to repay the credit.

If you want the credit on this years taxes it is important to move quickly to find the perfect home. Most escrows take at least 45 days with the new rules that govern lenders.


Warning: New Loan Limits for 2010 Are Coming

October 28, 2009: The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) is expected to announce, as early as next week, the new conforming loan limits for 2010. The conforming loan limit determines the maximum size of a mortgage that Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac can buy or guarantee.
