I have worked in real estate since 1990. I began as a real assistant to my mother, Carol Cook, who was opening a new real estate office in Los Gatos. It soon became clear that my job was going to require me to get a real estate license in order to answer all the questions that came my way. I received my license in 1993 and began working as a partnership with my mother and we worked together until she retired in 2009.
My real estate career has taken me throughout the entire Santa Clara county and I have probably sold homes in every part of the county. My husband was raised in the East Foothills of San Jose and we presently live in the Berryessa area. A large majority of my business has come from his acquaintances and referrals so I would estimate that at least 50% of my business is from that area of San Jose. Because of my years of experience,I feel very comfortable and knowledgeable about working throughout Santa Clara county.
I feel that one of my main strengths is my communication skills with clients and other industry professionals. I am willing to spend time to make sure my clients are comfortable and understand the transaction. I will take time to explain the contract and all paperwork required for which past clients have expressed their appreciation.Most are amazed that I will spend that much time to make sure they understand what they are signing. A quote from one of my clients states "Patrice coached us and encouraged us in an impossible market. She is courteous, responsive and caring. We could not have found anyone better to make our dream a reality". This is what makes me a successful Realtor.
My background of work experience is administrative work; a large majority of which was for various types of construction companies. I still have connections with contractors and keep up with "construction styles" so that I am current when my clients have real estate questions my about updating their homes.
I have a husband and a son. My husband installs and repairs spas and hot tubs. My son is a senior in high school and has just received a baseball scholarship to college. I have spent numerous hours donating time to all the schools my son has attended. He attended private school for the first 7 years of his education and then transferred to public schools. The funding for schools is so low, I volunteer as often as I can.
My Church also has an outreach program for the nearby community. I volunteer my time with their Thanksgiving meal give away, Christmas give away and back to school program. They have a full time pantry for people in need and I donate to that program.
I am a sports enthusiast and enjoy attending all the various sporting events the Bay Area has to offer. I have been a season ticket holder for the SF Giants for 20 years so that is where my heart lies. I enjoy having the opportunity to watch all the other teams in this great area we call home!
