The incorporated City of Saratoga, which dates back to 1956, is generally bounded on the north by Prospect Road and on the east by Quito Road.  Unincorporated areas in the Santa Cruz Mountains are to the west and south. Cupertino and San Jose are adjacent to the north; San Jose, Campbell and Monte Sereno are adjacent to the east.
