Gretchen was born in Oakland, California and grew up in Lafayette. After graduating from Acalanes High School in 1965, she attended U.C. Berkeley, where she was associated with Delta Gamma Sorority. She was married in 1967 and spent the next 12 years living in 5 other states, giving her a real sense of compassion for her transferred clients. She moved to Danville in 1980 to raise her six children. Her children have attended a variety of public and private schools giving her a wide knowledge of the school system. With eighteen years of experience with Mustang Soccer, she is also familiar with our local sports programs.
Gretchen has been active in parish life at St. Joan of Arc in San Ramon for 25 years. She was elected to the first Parish Advisory Board and meets weekly with a group for prayer. For over ten years she was affiliated with Kairos Outside Prison Ministry, traveling and working with women who had loved ones inside. After moving to Walnut Creek she became a member of St. Anne's parish. She has also been a licensed Foster Parent, working with a private Christian agency.
Gretchen became a licensed Realtor in 1985 and earned her Graduate Realtors Institute designation in 1988. In 1999 she earned her designation as a Senior Real Estate Specialist. She is currently a member of the National, State and County Associations of Realtors. In November 2001 she completed a professional Development Series through University of San Francisco in Negotiations. In 2005 she added the QSC designation which allows her clients to provide valuable feedback on her performance. She is committed to continuing education in all areas of real estate.
Gretchen enjoys spending time with her six children and ten grandchildren. She enjoys traveling, hiking and remodeling houses. She is currently checking out alternative places for retirement, so that she will be able to help her clients with their long term decisions. She enjoys being a resource for her friends, family and clients.
Recently she has expanded her knowledge base to investment properties and has begun her own investment portfolio. Gretchen has historically covered Contra Costa and southern Alameda Counties in both residential and land sales and loves working in Rossmoor.
